HERE ARE A COUPLE HELPFUL ITEMS YOU WILL NEED
Assignments
Reading
Reading assignments need to be done before class! I will try to give everyone enough time to read what I require, I always hated teachers who never did that. However, I want you to read because discussions in class will result in better scores on IB exams.
Reader Response Journals
Reader Response Journals or RRJ's, are critical to success in this class. They allow you to analyze openly without the worry of it effecting your grade. You want to try your best on these because you will get feedback on well your analyzing text! They should only be a paragraph or two!
IB written exam
This will be a paper regarding the pieces we've read throughout the year. You should narrow down the focus as much as possible, providing a lot of support with a well thought out thesis! Don't worry we try to work it throughout the year!
Culture Presentation
You are required to do a 5 to 8 minute presentation about a part of a country's culture of your choosing. This could be clothing style, food, sports, really anything that interests you! You must put together a paper for your own presentation as well as give a page analysis of someone else's presentation.
